Last night, I had the honor of participating in a campaign Q&A session at the Newton Public Library, organized and hosted by the Chinese American Association of Newton (CAAN). I would like to extend my gratitude to Michelle Luo, chair of CAAN, for her efforts in arranging this event for all candidates running in our district.
It's essential to reflect on our roots, the reasons for leaving our homeland, the aspirations that brought us here, and the achievements we've made.
Progressives always advocate for utopian ideals inconsistent with human nature. While they promise hope, change, clean air, freedom, land, and power to the people, history shows that such promises have always resulted in misery, bloodshed, famine, death, and destruction.
For instance, in China, Mao's campaign against sparrows led to widespread famine and the deaths of millions. Today, progressives are advocating to combat climate change through measures such as higher taxes, a vast governmental bureaucracy and rash scientifically unfounded policies. While our environment is at the center of attention, it's worth considering the potential consequences of these actions. As history shows us, it will not work well for anyone!
Thank you once again to CAAN for providing this platform for open dialogue and exchange of ideas.
