My Commitment to Newton: A Safer, Stronger, and More Transparent Future

As we approach the upcoming election, I want to share with you my vision for Newton’s future. Our city is at a critical crossroads, and we have the opportunity to shape it into a safer, more prosperous, and more transparent community. With your support, I am committed to addressing the issues that matter most to you—safety, infrastructure, and fiscal responsibility.

Ensuring Safety for Newton
First and foremost, I promise to make Newton a safer place to live, work, and raise a family. Public safety is my top priority, and I will ensure that our city enforces the rule of law. I stand firm against illegal immigration and will work to protect our community by ensuring that Newton’s resources are directed towards legal residents. By strengthening our partnerships with law enforcement and community leaders, we will create an environment where every resident feels secure, and our neighborhoods can flourish.

My Commitment to Newton: Investing in Academic Excellence

As your candidate, I believe that a strong education system is the foundation of our community's success. Newton's students deserve the best opportunities to thrive academically, and I am committed to ensuring that our schools prioritize academic excellence. My plan for education focuses on accountability, professionalism, and preparing students for success in the real world.

Holding Educators Accountable for Academic Excellence
Investing in academic excellence starts with ensuring that our educators are delivering the highest quality education possible within the constraints of the current budget and course curricula. I will advocate for holding teachers and administrators accountable for maintaining high academic standards. Our students deserve educators who are committed to their professional roles and focused on preparing them for the future.

Keeping Politics Out of the Classroom

For My Asian Neighbors

Last night, I had the honor of participating in a campaign Q&A session at the Newton Public Library, organized and hosted by the Chinese American Association of Newton (CAAN). I would like to extend my gratitude to Michelle Luo, chair of CAAN, for her efforts in arranging this event for all candidates running in our district.

It's essential to reflect on our roots, the reasons for leaving our homeland, the aspirations that brought us here, and the achievements we've made.

Progressives always advocate for utopian ideals inconsistent with human nature. While they promise hope, change, clean air, freedom, land, and power to the people, history shows that such promises have always resulted in misery, bloodshed, famine, death, and destruction.

For instance, in China, Mao's campaign against sparrows led to widespread famine and the deaths of millions. Today, progressives are advocating to combat climate change through measures such as higher taxes, a vast governmental bureaucracy and rash scientifically unfounded policies. While our environment is at the center of attention, it's worth considering the potential consequences of these actions. As history shows us, it will not work well for anyone!

Thank you once again to CAAN for providing this platform for open dialogue and exchange of ideas.

What makes a free society #2

There are two primary motivators that drive human behavior: love and fear. However, on a societal scale, love often lacks the consistency and strength necessary to compel widespread action. Consequently, governments frequently resort to instilling fear in order to control the populace. Fear of financial penalties, imprisonment, or even death coerces individuals to act against their inclinations, pushing them beyond their comfort zones. This tendency inevitably leads to tyranny, as the concept of a benevolent dictator remains elusive. All Socialist experiments ended in bloodshed and misery everywhere where one was attempted (France, Russia, China, N. Korea, Viet Nam, Cambodia.......)

Similarly, religious institutions also leverage fear, albeit of a spiritual nature. The fear here revolves around the consequences in an afterlife, administered by a loving and benevolent deity. The notion of fearing heaven serves as a vital foundation for fostering a moral and just society, wherein free individuals can thrive under the governance of human laws.

In summary, regardless of one's beliefs, it's advisable to place trust in a benevolent higher power rather than solely in humanity.
As history attests, humanity remains as it is, deeply and profoundly flawed and only divine intervention could alter this reality.
To prove my point, it's worth noting that in Massachusetts, three consecutive Speakers of the House, all regarded as decent individuals, ultimately found themselves behind bars on corruption charges.

What makes a free society #1

Why is it crucial to embrace the belief in the divine nature of humanity rather than solely relying on Darwinian theory of evolution for the advancement and sustenance of a free society?

The concept that humans were created by a benevolent and intelligent being, endowed with a divine soul, positions mankind above other creatures and grants him stewardship over nature. Conversely, Darwinian theory omits divinity, depicting humans as merely one species among many.

Belief in the divine nature of humanity liberates individuals from the fear of other beings, empowering them to strive for greatness for the betterment of humankind while securing their place in the afterlife. Conversely, Darwinian ideology fosters a hierarchical mindset, where individuals compete for survival based on the principle of "survival of the fittest."

In essence, embracing the belief in the divine nature of humanity promotes unity, compassion, and a sense of purpose, fostering a society where individuals are inspired to contribute positively to the world while protecting the sanctity of life.

Foundations of my political beliefs

Upon my arrival in the United States in 1981, I delved into the nuances of the American system of government and civics under the guidance of exceptional educators. The stark disparities between the socialist, leftist structure of the USSR and the United States' free-market model, anchored in religious freedoms and constitutional principles, intrigued me deeply. Here, the promise of success transcended barriers of race, religion, gender, or origin, igniting my curiosity about the foundations of this nation's societal fabric.

After completing my high school education, I enlisted in the US Army as a gesture of gratitude towards the country that had welcomed my family and provided us with constitutional rights and liberties, enabling us to thrive both professionally and financially. Subsequently, I pursued higher education in healthcare while immersing myself in the study of our system of government and constitutional rights. Drawing inspiration from renowned thinkers such as Alexis De Tocqueville, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson, I deepened my understanding of civic principles.

As I progressed in my professional and economic endeavors, I found guidance in the works of Milton Friedman and Thomas Sowell, whose insights on the economy became instrumental in shaping my perspectives. Combined with my passion for history, these influences fueled my engagement in politics and helped formulate my informed opinions.

Since then, I've contributed to my community as a first responder, working as a paramedic. Additionally, I've served as a clinical educator for healthcare professionals, sharing my expertise. Alongside these roles, I've pursued engineering as a self-taught endeavor, resulting in successful inventions. Transitioning to entrepreneurship, I've established myself as a businessman. Moreover, I've extended my reach as a social media educator, imparting knowledge to tens of thousands of students.
